The EBC works closely with the
Delegation of the European Commission in Japan, the national
European Embassies, and other business organisations to
co-ordinate policy proposals and make suggestions to the
Japanese Government on how to improve the environment for
business in Japan.
Activities include:
- Identifying obstacles
European companies face doing business in Japan and
lobbying the Japanese Government for changes in government
policy
- Providing information to
the European Commission, EU Member States, and
international organizations such as the WTO and OECD on
the Japanese business environment
- Participating in Japanese
Government commissions and study groups such as METI's
study group on International Accounting Standards
- Commenting on proposed
legislation through the Japanese Government's Public
Comment Procedure
- Publishing policy
proposals in EBC reports such as the annual "EBC
Report on the Japanese Business Environment"
- Participating in
high-level business forums such as the EU-Japan Business
Dialogue Roundtable
