EBC Committee Membership Categories, Fees and Dues　 

• Applicants for membership of the EBC shall nominate an EBC Committee through which such membership is proposed to be held.

• Application in any category for membership of an EBC Committee is subject to formal approval as set out in the Constitution.

• In this document, the term "European Companies" means Companies* which are incorporated in or based in Europe or their Affiliated Companies** in Japan (or Companies incorporated in or based in Japan and controlled by European nationals.)

1) SPECIAL SPONSORS 

Annual Dues JPY 300,000.-

European Companies that are resident in Japan and are members of a European National Chamber of Commerce in Japan.

• Includes the right to apply for membership in one Committee and (upon acceptance) the right to then register an unlimited number of additional Members ("Additional Members") in other Committees for a discounted 50% of the annual fee (currently JPY 50,000.-).
• The Company name will be included in all EBC-related PR folders, publications and website.
• The Company will receive EBC materials and newsletters and can attend EBC events.
• The Company will receive voting rights within its sector Committee and the right to stand for office within such Committee. 

2) EUROPEAN NATIONAL CHAMBER: COMPANY MEMBERSHIP

(current) Annual Dues JPY 80,000 (First Committee membership)_
JPY 50,000 (Each additional Committee Membership)

European Companies that are resident in Japan and are members of a European National Chamber of Commerce in Japan.

• Includes the right to apply for membership in one Committee.

• The Company name will be included in the EBC annual report.

• The Company will receive EBC materials and newsletter and can attend EBC events.

• The Company will receive voting rights within its sector Committee and the right to stand for office within such Committee.
  
  

3 (a) EUROPEAN COMPANY MEMBERSHIP

Annual Dues JPY 160,000.-

For European Companies which are resident in Japan from a European country which, as yet, does not have a National Chamber of Commerce in Japan. Membership in this category would remain valid only until such time as the relevant National Chamber of Commerce is established in Japan.

• Includes the right to apply for membership in one Committee.
• The Company name will be included in the EBC annual report.
• The Company receives EBC materials and newsletter and can attend EBC events.
• The Company receives voting rights within its sector Committee and the right to stand for office within such Committee.

3 (b) Defaulting Stakeholder Members

Annual Dues JPY 160,000.-

For Defaulting Stakeholder Members. Renewal of membership in this category would be conditional on the relevant Stakeholder continuing to be a Defaulting Stakeholder at the time of such renewal.

• Includes the right to apply for membership in one Committee.
• The Company name will be included in the EBC annual report.
• The Company receives EBC materials and newsletter and can attend EBC events.
• The Company receives voting rights within its sector Committee and the right to stand for office within such Committee.
  

4) ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP 

4A) Non-European Companies 

Annual Dues JPY 200,000.-

For non-European Companies with European interests who do not belong to any European National Chamber of Commerce in Japan.

• Includes the right to apply for membership in one Committee.
• The Company name will be included in the EBC annual report.
• The Company receives EBC materials and newsletter and can attend EBC events.

4B) European Companies

Annual Dues JPY 400,000.-

For European Companies that are resident in Japan and so are eligible for membership under categories 1) or 2), but of their choice are not members of a European National Chamber of Commerce in Japan.

• Includes the right to apply for membership in one Committee.
• The Company name will be included in the EBC annual report.
• The Company receives EBC materials and newsletter and can attend EBC events.
  
  

5) NON-RESIDENT MEMBERSHIP

Annual Dues JPY 80,000.-

For European Companies that would otherwise be eligible for membership under categories 1, 2, 3 or 4, but are not resident in Japan and are domiciled in Europe.

• Includes the right to apply for membership in one Committee
• The Company will be listed in the EBC's annual report in the section designated for Non-Resident Members.
• The Company will receive EBC materials and can attend EBC events.
  
  

* Company or Companies shall include any individual, company corporation, firm, partnership, joint venture association, organisation, institution, trust or agency, whether or not having a separate legal personality.

** Affiliated Company means, as to any Company domiciled in Europe any other Company domiciled in Japan which directly or indirectly is in control of or is under common control with such Company domiciled in Europe.
