EBC visits METI Senior Vice Minister Matsushita

December 17, 2009 The EBC met with Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) Senior Vice-Minister, Mr. Tadahiro Matsushita to present the 2009 White Paper report on the Japanese business environment. EBC Vice-Chairman Arno Tomowski, Materials Committee Chairman Vincent Trelut, Medical Equipment Committee Chairman Seiji Kamijo, Aeronautics Space & Defence Committee Representative Andrew Symonds, Executive Director Alison Murray, and Policy Director Jakob Edberg, attended the meeting. EBC Vice Chairman, Arno Tomowski, informed Senior Vice-Minister Matsushita about the key issues faced by European businesses in Japan as well as general EBC policies. Additionally, each Committee Chairman/Representatives briefed Senior Vice-Minister Matsushita on issues involving their respective industries. Lastly, the EBC Vice Chairman also offered the EBC’s support for the new government’s goal of bringing change to Japan and expressed his hope for an Economic Integration Agreement between the EU and Japan.
