NTT East Corp. and NTT West Corp. will cut back their basic monthly charges for fixed-line telephone services by Yen50 for individual customers and Yen100 for corporate customers. NTT Communications Corp. will launch a new service under which charges for out-of-town calls will be fixed at Yen15, with tax excluded, for up to three minutes under certain conditions. Under the current system, charges vary from Yen20 to Yen80 for up to three minutes. Under NTT's charging system, basic monthly charges for fixed-line services are set in three stages in accordance with the number of subscribers in each region between Yen1450 and Yen1750, excluding tax, for individual customers and between Yen2300 and Yen2600 for corporate customers.
